Friends have their fights. Sometimes don't talk for days, weeks, months or even years. During those times they say things they don't mean, & lose trust by the second. There are those who pass like ships in the night, who meet for a moment, then sail out of sight with never a backward glance of regret; folks we know briefly then quickly forget. When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.
Do you want to know who your true friends are? If you ever screw up really bad in life; especially if you end up doing something that society considers dishonorable or embarrassing and shameful or life give you an illness with a stigma attached to it........
