When each day starts, decide it's going to be a good day. Decide to be happy. As the day goes on, whenever something happens that prevents it, decide if you'll continue to carry that thing throughout the day or if you can set it down and continue on. Traffic, a disappointment, an unexpected bill, a snide remark... decide if any of those things are more important than the happiness of the day, and if not, give them only as much attention as is needed and carry on.
